Simple Home Energy Solutions was created in January of 2012 with the help of grant funding for education from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009 (ARRA). In the Fall of 2008 most Americans were affected by one of the worst economic declines in years as was the founder and owner, Robert Moreno. He started in residential construction work as a "journeyman" in 2002 as a carpenter and general tradesman.  Robert built his previous business, Moreno Contracting, LLC working on custom homes with kitchen and bath remodels, basement finishes, and interior additions and home repairs. With the decline of the economy, his passion for home construction was pushed in a direction that found a better purpose for homes than just making them look good. 

 

With the ARRA funding acquired, Robert attained a certification as a BPI residential Building Analyst and Envelope Professional (www.bpi.org) focusing on building science and how it applies to residential homes.  This nationally recognized training is necessary to participate in most of our tradesman programs in the metro area and nationwide.  For the last 10 years, he has found an innate ability for diagnosing a home's true potential and improving their performance no matter the type.
